Year 6 visited the Imperial War Museum to support their learning about World War II. During the visit, pupils explored powerful exhibitions, including the WWII galleries, where they examined artefacts, photographs, and personal stories from the period. The children deepened their understanding of life on the Home Front, evacuation, and the impact of war on ordinary people. The visit brought their classroom learning to life and encouraged thoughtful discussion, empathy, and historical enquiry. As a part of the visit, pupils took part in a documentary-making workshop, where they analysed historical sources and worked collaboratively to present what they had learned. This experience encouraged thoughtful discussion and reflection.
