Celebrating success- Honouring the achievements of our students at the end of term awards

Dear Parents & Guardians, Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh, We are delighted to invite you to Islamia Primary School’s Ramadan Bazaar, a special event to celebrate the blessed month of Ramadan and support our school community. Date: Monday, 24th March 2025 Time: 2:00 PM Location: School Canteen We kindly request donations of savoury items such as soups, pastries, and other delicious treats. To ensure ease for all, we ask that any food donations be pre-packed in takeaway containers, making it convenient for families to enjoy them for Iftar. All proceeds from the Ramadan Bazaar will go directly towards supporting the QAD Department, benefiting our children’s Quran, Arabic, and Deen education. How you can help: Donate savoury food items Volunteer your time during the event If you’re able to contribute in any way, please inform the school office during the week. On Thursday 20th March Islamia Primary School took part in a KS1 fun run. The day consisted of four individual races: Year 1 Boys Year 1 Girls Year 2 Boys Year 2 Girls Each race was approximately 600m. A huge congratulation to Ayuub and Adam for coming first place in their races.

From Lab to Mars: The Journey of Curiosity Rover This term, our Year 5 students have been on an exciting journey—one that spans millions of miles! Through research, creativity, and imagination, we have explored the incredible mission of the Curiosity Rover, from its creation in a NASA laboratory to its historic landing on the Martian surface. As we uncover the wonders of space, we were reminded of the Qur'anic verse: ‘And We have certainly created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware’ (Surah Al-Mu’minun 23:17). Year 5 have brought this adventure to life, sharing fascinating facts and vivid descriptions of Curiosity’s journey. We are proud to present their work and invite you to discover the story of one of NASA’s greatest explorers!"

In Reception this week- Both classes have been learning about doubling numbers /1 more than a number and composition of numbers.

**Exciting Launch of Book Week** Book Week kicked off in style with an inspiring launch by T Amal and T Omer! During assembly, students were thrilled to hear about the exciting events planned for the week ahead. In Key Stage 1, our youngest readers sung a fun and catchy song all about reading for success which they had learned in class. Meanwhile, Key Stage 2 pupils had a blast guessing books from clever emoji clues, sparking their imaginations and love for reading. **KS1 Enjoy a wonderful Visit from Storyteller Sef Townsend!** EYFS & KS1 pupils were absolutely delighted by a special visit from the talented storyteller, Sef Townsend. Sef captivated the students with his engaging oral storytelling, bringing stories to life. The children were mesmerised as they experienced the art of storytelling which we hope will deepen their love for the spoken word, insha'Allah.

Reception have been very busy this week they made their classroom look beautiful with their Ramadan decorations. They prayed dhuhr salah together in Jammah with our little sheikh Bilal leading.

After an exciting six weeks of our after-school Sewing Club, we are thrilled to share the amazing progress our young creators have made! The children have worked hard, learning new skills, exploring their creativity, and producing some truly wonderful pieces. We are so proud of their dedication and enthusiasm throughout this journey. Each stitch tells a story of patience, creativity, and growth! 💖 A big thank you to everyone who participated and supported this club. We look forward to more creative adventures in the future!
